Samsung Wave 3: Review, Tech Specs and Price
Curve, smoothness and classy design, that’s how we can define this new Samsung Wave 3 apart from better connectivity and battery that has an impressive life.
When Samsung Wave Y was released with Bada 2.0, we were certainly sure that the phone is probably one of the best smart phones in that segment but with all new Wave 3, Samsung has elevated the bar further up. In addition to all the features that Wave Y possessed, Wave 3 sports a Super AMOLED display that provides quality graphics along with some other goodies.
Design and Build:
When I picked up Wave 3, the first thing I noticed was its smoothness on curves and fine metal finish. The Wave 3 has a totally scratch resistant body and features a fingerprint-proof unibody design. The phone looks ultimate when compared to Android phones from the same segments.

The only con in its design is got to be the memory card place which is under the battery and thus not swappable easily.
User Interface:
The Samsung Wave 3 is equipped with 1.4GHz Scorpion processor along with 512MB RAM while Bada 2.0 on the top. Bada 2.0 has a pleasing interface and navigating through menus is unsurprisingly smooth. If you have had experience with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, you will have no problem handling this Bada 2.0 interface as both of them are very similar.
Media:
The Samsung Wave 3 has a really awesome music player with super awesome music quality. The music player presents you 5.1 surround channels as well as some equalizer presets. The interface is nice and has simple layout. The only thing that goes against this beauty is its incompatibility with most third party players which are present on Android phones and thus playing some format which is not supported by this phone can be problematic.

Apart from that, we found no other fault in this smartphone when media was concerned. All 720p quality video look really nice on its Super AMOLED display. Surely this smartphone is one of the best in its segment when media consumption is concerned.
Connectivity:
The Samsung Wave 3 supports almost all the current connectivity technologies except 4G LTE. It has support for 3G, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 and of course USB. The Wave 3 is equipped with Samsung’s own Dolphin browser which is pretty smooth. On the downside we experienced that browser’s video playing quality is not up to the mark.
The social networking apps make it easier to stay connected to all the current leading websites like Facebook and Twitter. Not too many other apps are available for this phone as it sports a different platform altogether.
One feature that I liked most is the built-in task manager which lacks in many Android devices. This task manager makes it easier to close all the background apps and thus can enhance the performance.
Battery Life:
This smartphone lasts easily for more than a day with its 1500 mah battery. When used constantly with heavy apps, Wave 3 lasts for super 10 hours.

Verdict:
The Samsung Wave 3 has come up with stiff competition to other smartphone is it’s segment as it has pretty everything that any collage going kid wants! Except apps store, which is unimpressive; it has awesome music quality, decent OS, a super clear camera and a refreshing OS. SO if you are looking for a phone under 17k and you don’t want any extra apps, Samsung Wave 3 is just for you.
