Nokia Lumia 710 – Review, Tech Specs And Price
After its maiden venture into the smartphone market with Windows Phone Operating system, Nokia has launched another alternative to its biggies like Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 in the form of Lumia 710, although a cheaper one. Like all Lumia smartphone, Nokia Lumia 710 sports a robust yet beautiful, Windows Phone 7.5 aka Mango.

With this sibling of Lumia 800, Nokia has attempted to make a stab at lower end segment. The first thing that you’ll feel while handling Lumia 710 that it looks cheaper than any of its siblings and to be frank, it is. Both Lumia siblings also differ on price factor; Lumia 800 costs around $680 for SIM free edition whereas Lumia 710 is expected to cost you around $220 (INR 14000) only.
One of the reasons, Lumia 710 feels like a cheaper handset is its reduced weight. The handset is fairly light-weighted measuring only 125.5g. Though I’ve mentioned this is a cheaper version of Lumia series, don’t let that statement fool you as this phone sports a 1.4GHz Scorpion processor, 512MB RAM just like Lumia 800 due to Windows Phone 7.5’s strict hardware requirements. Thus even though it may not compete with Lumia 800 in all departments, it promises smooth user experience for sure.
Nokia has reduced in-built memory as well as has changed screen type to cut down the price factor. So Nokia Lumia 710 equipped with 8GB in-built memory and features a LCD screen against AMOLED screen of Lumia 800. The Lumia 710 has a 5MP camera which offers decent image quality with other video options.
Technical Specifications:

Though it has many impressive features, it still lacks in many departments. For example, we found following disadvantages in Lumia 710:
- No expandable memory
- No secondary camera
- No Silverlight or flash support in browser
- Lackluster audio quality
- Unimpressive battery life
So would you purchase it? Or would you rather go for smartphones from Samsung in similar segment? Voice your opinion in comments section.
