Nokia Unveils Lumia 601- Overview and Tech Specs

Nokia is rocking stage of MWC 2012 at Barcelona with their new devices. Since their contract with Microsoft to produce Winodws Phone, Nokia has released 3 phones under Lumia Series. Mobile World Congress witnessed release of fourth Lumia Smartphone named Lumia 610. Let’s take a quick look at its specs.

Lumia 610- Overview

Nokia Lumia 610 is budget Smartphone from Windows Phone series by Nokia. Lumia 610 will be first device to run on Windows Phone Mango tweak, codenamed Tango, as this tweaked version of mobile OS is specially for lower end Smartphones. As it can be seen from tech specs above, this device runs on 800 MHz processor and has just 256 MB RAM. With such low RAM it is not possible to even run all apps from Windows Market. However, these features doesn’t come in between smooth working of Lumia 610 thanks to Tango tweak.

Comparing its design with Lumia 900 and Lumia 710, one can clearly point out where Nokia has cut the cost. It is as light as plastic made toy and sometimes feels the same. Though chrome bezel is present around the plastic chassis of Lumia 610, it doesn’t feel much sturdy.

As that of any Nokia device, Lumia 610 features a dedicated camera key to launch camera. It takes a lag of 2-3 seconds for camera to launch ones key is pressed so those who are looking for point and shoot feature, drop idea of buying this one. However, 5 megapixel camera combined with Microsoft technology provides excellent results if you have patience.

Left apart hardware specs, in terms of software Lumia 610 performs really well. Despite of small screen, texting is not irksome. You get speedy browser to fly through different website and Zune is pre-installed. Apart from it, Nokia has installed its own apps in the device. You can store eBooks, audio books and e-news papers on device. Also, with Nokia Pulse it is possible to stay closely connected with your special buddies. There are Nokia Mix Radio and Nokia Transporter App too.
