The iPad 2 now comes with an 1Ghz dual core A5 processor and 512MB RAM. The screen on the iPad 2 is a 9.7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024×768. The screen is amazingly crisp and colors are vivid, however the screen’s resolution isn’t upto the famous Retina Display. The iPad 2 comes with a WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) capability. iPad 2-3

Software

The iPad 2 now ships with the latest operating system iOS 5. The look and feel of the new operating system is extremely good. The home screen is no different than theone on the iphone with a dock at the bottom and application icons placed in a neat slide able grid. The browser performance has been improved by leaps and bounds. The browser is noticeably more responsive and faster than the previous generation iPad. However the lack of Flash support is a letdown. Garageband and iMovie are two apps that are interesting to use. FaceTime is an excellent app to video chat with your friends. All in all the software on the iPad 2 is what you would expect from Apple operating system, a great user experience.

Overall Vertdict

The Apple ipad 2 is a great tablet. However with the current competition on the rise and the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy tablets offering a much better package it all comes down to personal preferences. Moreover with the rumored iPad 3 launch on the horizon, the iPad 2 might not the best buy right now.  So unless you are a diehard hardcore fan of Apple and need a tablet whatsoever, the iPad 2 isnt really something one would go for looking at the current markets.
