Apple New iPad- Overview, Features, Price and Availability
Apple Inc unveiled next gen iPad yesterday in an event held in San Francisco. We live blogged about it but in case you haven’t followed, this next generation of iPad is to be named The New iPad! (No! we are not kidding!). Apparently, Tim and his team has fulfilled all expectations that were categorized as rumors for past few weeks. The list includes retina display, higher clocked processor and faster connectivity. Scroll down below to find exciting features of New iPad (We need a good name here!)
Retina Display
The New iPad is set to sport highly trended and expected Retina display. It will boast a gigantic resolution of 2048 x 1536 which is nearly twice as that of what iPad2 is currently offering. Phil compared it with iPad 2 display on a screenshot showed on big screen. The screen has over 3.1 million pixels. If you hold it on 15 inches from eyes, it is very difficult to distinguish pixels from each other. See picture below to get an idea about how clear Retina display is as compared to one from iPad2.
Colors are vivid and clear with 44% better color saturation than display of predecessor. It is believed to offer 264 ppi which is enough to call it Retina Display.
A5X Processor
We, at MWC 2012, saw that most of devices in future will run on quad-core Tegra 3 chipset. Apple, however, have decided to come up variation of A5 processor running in iPhone 4s. They called it A5x and claimed it to be better and faster than Tegra 3 processor.
With power of A5x Quad-core graphics, users are definite to get best display experience ever.
iSight Camera
The New iPad is set to deliver better 5 megapixels camera than what we usually experience these days. It has backside illuminated sensor, 5 element lens and IRS filter. Along with ISP all these features are blessings of powers of A5x chipset. It will also feature auto-focus and auto-exposure to capture stills pretty easily.
As one can expect, this camera is capable of recording 1080p videos. With HD videos and support of Retina display, watching recordings would be fun like never before.
Voice Detection and 4G LTE Connectivity
As everyone will agree, the most astonishing feature of iPhone 4S launched few months back is Siri, a smart assistant. Though New iPad is not loaded with this feature, users are offered with voice detection facility. On-screen keyboard of this New iPad has got new key at the bottom with a sign of microphone on it. That’s voice detection!
New iPad is to sport 4G LTE connectivity serving a speed of 73 Mbps. Code-named as next gen wireless, 4G LTE will be accompanied by 21 Mbps HSPA+ and 42 Mbps DC-HSDPA. Just for comparison, iPad 2 has 3.1 Mbps on EV-DO and 7.2 Mbps on HSPA. For New iPad Verizon, Rogers, Bell, Telus and AT&T will be the LTE partners. In addition, this New iPad will be 3G world ready so connecting on the go is possible now. You can even use it as personal hotspot too; if carrier supports.

Apart from these notable features, here are some statistics about battery life and dimensions of New iPad. New iPad will feature battery life of 10 hours with 9 hours on 4G, which is really appreciating. It will be 9.4 mm thin and will weigh 1.4 lbs. And now the word on price.
