Get Personalized Updates Through Facebook’s Interest Lists
On Thursday, Social networking giant Facebook unveiled a new feature called as “Interest List”. The interest lists are personalized lists, which will allow you to cut through the unnecessary clutter and using these lists you can also turn your newsfeed into a personalized yet organized newspaper.
This new feature known as “Interest Lists” will be rolled out in upcoming weeks to all users, using which you can subscribe or create your own feeds based on various topics. For example, if you are subscribed to an interest list named Recipes or Football then you will get all the updates related to these topics on your newsfeed. Another advantage of these lists is that you can organize all the pages you have liked under lists based on topics. So if you like Manchester United then you can add all the pages you have liked related to that team under the sport list.
This new feature has adopted many aspects from Twitter’s lists, which lets you create and follow tweeting about same topic. Your lists will appear on the left hand side of your wall. Clicking on any list will bring you the latest newsfeeds from that list, pretty cool, isn’t it?
When Facebook launched Timeline feature, these interest lists made a short appearance but later company refused to provide any details.
The Facebook is sure to witness many changes in upcoming months and this might be just the beginning.
