Detailed Review:
Processor and Memory:
The Blackberry Curve 9220 fails to impress in this segment as it is equipped with a boring 800MHz processor and 512MB ROM/512 MB RAM. Though it’s an entry-level device, seeing other smartphones in its segment the company could have done better. The device provides decent performance as compared to its hardware.
Design:
At 102 grams, the device doesn’t feel too much bulky. The handset comes with the signature QWERTY keypad and let me tell you; all the keys are easily accessible as the keypad fits perfectly into the body. The backlit keys make it easier to write even when it’s dark outside. The display being a qVGA one provides bright experience.
Connectivity:
All the Blackberry models are known for few things all over the world and one of them is BBM (Blackberry Messenger). This model proves no exception to this fact and has all the exciting elements stuffed in it. Blackberry Curve 9220 has all the latest connectivity options like GPS, Wi-Fi, MicroUSB and Bluetooth but however surprisingly lacks in 3G. The Blackberry 9220 doesn’t come with 3G option which can sure be counted as a drawback
Multimedia:
Blackberry Curve 9220 is the first Blackberry smartphone to be equipped with on board FM radio. This means you can enjoy the music wherever you go and that too without any repetition. The media player can play songs in all major formats. The headset quality is again decent as Blackberry was never known for producing devices with astounding sound quality.
Conclusion:
The Blackberry Curve 9220 is available for INR.10, 990 and can be purchased at any Blackberry store or any major retail outlet. The device is available in four different colors, viz. Black, Pure White, Fuschia Pink and Teal Blue.
One thing that would surely lure you into buying this new Curve device is the offer Blackberry has bundled with it. If you purchase Blackberry Curve 9220 before June 30, you can download apps Form Blackberry world worth Rs.2500.
