1. Designed For Customers
Windows8′s metro UI has always been in discussion since its announcement. This tiled interface can be completely customized as per user’s choice. You can add any photo to tile, you can move any tile to any position and can group together likewise tiles. With Windows8, you name the customization and its possible. Unfortunately, iPad lacks this kind of personalization.
2. Multitasking
You literally don’t have to double tap while on Windows 8 Start Screen. If you want to close the app, just slide it downwards and throw out of screen. Run through many tiles with smoothly sliding fingers on the screen from left to right. All running apps can be easily seen by pulling finger into screen from left side. It will bring forward a thumbnail view showing all running apps. Cool, isn’t it?
3. People App- Not Just an Address Book
People app is your one point access for person’s contact details. And it doesn’t just include his address, phone number but links to his Facebook, Twitter and Windows Live IDs. In Windows8, you can easily change size of running app in order to fit it beside an app already present on screen. Size usually reduces to one third or two third of total screen size. In commercial version of Windows8, we can expect even smaller sizes.
7. IE 10
No matter what are your previous experiences with Internet Explorer are, this version is going to wipe them off for sure! It is one of the fastest and secure browser running and as compared to Safari on iPad, it load any website faster. Also, it is provided many touch sensitive functions like closing all tabs at once by single tap.
8. Xbox
Last but not the list feature that beats iOS is built-in XBox in Windows8. If you are a Xbox gamer, Xbox Live app is made for you. It creates your 3D avatar and keeps track of records in games you are playing. You can even use this app to download games with the help of marketplace. Though right now this app doesn’t work in full flesh, we can definitely see some improvements.
There are some cons in Windows8 where iOS leads the way. However, these features are enough to catch attention of normal user. Once Windows8 tablets will be available in market, picture will become more clear.
