Having a Long Distance Relationship? There Is a Special App For You

Are you seeing someone who lives in another city? Is this long distance relationship creating too many problems as you two cannot stay in constant touch? Well, many people go through these long distance relationships at least once in their lifetime. Some of these relationships survive miraculously while others end over time.

If you are the one having such relationship, then probably there is an easy way to save your it. You are in same league as Ole Kostour, who moved to Mountain View from Canada to start a 3D software firm. But as every story has a twist, his too had one. Though he moved to Mountain View, he has his girlfriend living in Canada, to whom he left behind. So to stay in touch with his girlfriend, he designed an application known as “Pair”.

“We thought, if we’re so disconnected, how can we use our mobile devices to feel a little bit closer, to feel like we can touch each other?”

, Kostour explained motive behind the application.

This iPhone app was made available in app store this week. The “Pair” app creates a private Timeline like interface to couples which allows them to share messages, videos, photos and location and that too without any difficulty. This application also sports a lovely feature called as “Thumb kiss”. This feature makes iPhone vibrate when both partners touch the same spot on iPhone screen.

Other than this feature, couples can also maintain a common to-do list, draw various things together and can use another interesting feature known as “Thinking of You” message. This feature is nothing but more sophisticated version of Facebook’s poke function.

You can start using this application just by sending a “Pair” request to someone (No you can’t create multiple pairs!). Though 3 of 5 members of team behind this app are in long distance relationship, this app can be used by close friends too. This idea of staying in day-long touch with just one person may not be received well by many people, but well that was the idea behind this app. This app was specially designed for long couples staying in long distance relationships.

“If I want to talk to her, I don’t have to tap anywhere else,” Kostour states. “Just tap one button and I’m talking to her right away.” Right now this application is available only for iPhone but its Android version is on its way.
